Feeding Guidelines
For every cup of freeze-dried cat food, add half a cup of warm water. Allow food to rehydrate for one minute, mix and serve. Provide your cat access to fresh water. Optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size, breed, and activity level. Please refer to the feeding chart below as an initial recommendation and adjust food amount as needed to reach desired weight goal.
For Adults
Body Weight (lbs) | Adult # of Cups |
---|---|
6 | 3/4 |
8 | 1 |
10 | 1 1/8 |
12 | 1 1/4 |
14 | 1 3/8 |
Based on a standard 8 oz. measuring cup. Kittens may need up to twice the amount of food as listed for an adult cat
Pregnant or Lactating FemalesFor pregnant and nursing cats, please check with your veterinarian as requirements may vary depending on the number of kittens and stage of lactation. Fresh water should be available at all times. Optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size, breed, and activity level. Please use the feeding guidelines as an initial recommendation and adjust food amount as needed to reach desired weight goal.
Transition Your Cat
It’s recommended to feed 25% new food and 75% old food. This percentage is based off feeding guidelines. Of course, the exact amounts will vary based on the weight of your cat (on the bags of both food, it will show how much food is recommended based on your cat’s weight).
Days 4-6The feeding ratio would bump up to 50% new food and 50% old food.
Days 7-9The ratio would again increase to 75% new food and 25% old food.
Day 10Your cat would be fully transitioned to the new food and there would be no need to mix in the old food diet.
